Hans Luchs Quartet

    Guitarist Hans Luchs has been performing professionally in and around Chicago since moving to the city in the fall of 2007. In 2011, The Jazz Institute of Chicago selected Hans to perform in its annual “Young Lions’ concert. Since then, Hans has gone on to perform across the USA and internationally in Sweden, The UK, Ireland, Canada, and Mexico. 

Hans has performed and toured with an array of artists in American music including 8-time Grammy winner Pepe Aguilar, Motown Legend Martha Reeves, and blues singer Shirley King just to name a few. Hans has also performed, recorded, and toured with a host of wonderful jazz musicians from Chicago and beyond. Hans has also recorded and performed for NPR as a special guest musician for The Moth.

As an educator, Hans has taught private lessons and classes at the elementary, secondary, and college level. Currently, Hans teaches music through the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic. Hans has earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance from the University of Illinois-Chicago and a Master's degree in Jazz Studies from DePaul University.
